DHT Increases and Hair Loss

DHT occurs naturally as a hormone in the body. When we are younger, we have enough testosterone to suppress levels of DHT from increasing and causing hair loss. As we age, testosterone levels decrease thus naturally DHT levels in the body increase. As DHT increases it essentially attacks the growth cycle of hair in its growth phase.

With hair not having as long to grow it causes hair follicles not to be able to reach their mature size and the hair eventually grows thinner and becomes more fine on the head. There are now hair loss treatment products that can combat and lower the levels of DHT in the body which allows men to grow fuller, thicker hair like they once were able too.
